How old were you when you started working and what was your first job?
I was a scorekeeper for baseball and basketball games at the Roswell Recreation and Parks Department, known as “the Rec.” I come from a large family and the majority of our time spent outside of school and work was spent playing sports at the Rec. It was the first thing that I was responsible for outside of my household chores. It required punctuality and accountability. I do not recall if I got paid in M&M’s and Coca-Cola or $5.00/game. Either way, I enjoyed it and it was truly part of a wonderful childhood that taught me so many lessons that I carry with me to this very day.
When you were a kid, did you eat the crusts on your sandwich or not?
Although I was a picky eater, I kept the crusts on. My sack lunch for 12 years: ham and cheese sandwich, plain Lay’s potato chips, and three cookies. Thanks, Mom!
What’s your favorite season and why?
I prefer fall because college football is in full swing and Christmas is just around the corner.
